A woman from Hawaii who went missing after landing at LAX in November has been reported safe and her family has been contacted, her family’s attorney announced Wednesday.
Hannah Kobayashi went missing on Nov. 11 after relatives said she received “strange, mysterious, and simply disturbing” text messages from Kobayashi after she missed her connecting flight from LAX to New York City. It was reported that it became.
The family released a statement on Wednesday, saying:
“We are incredibly relieved and grateful that Hannah has been found safely. The past month has been an unimaginable challenge for our family, and we are looking forward to healing from all that we have been through. We ask that you please respect our privacy as we take time to process this. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported us during this difficult time. Caring was very important to us.”

In early December, the Los Angeles Police Department classified Kobayashi’s case as a voluntary disappearance, saying she voluntarily crossed the border into Mexico.
Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell told reporters that Kobayashi appeared to be unharmed and that authorities had found no evidence that she was being trafficked or the victim of a crime.

Kobayashi’s family was not happy with the decision and asked police to release surveillance video of Kobayashi crossing the border.
The family hired their own private investigator and lawyer, saying they still believed she was in danger.
Kobayahi’s father also joined the search efforts in Los Angeles.
He was found dead in a parking lot near Los Angeles International Airport on Nov. 24, according to the county coroner. Kobayashi’s family confirmed Ryan Kobayashi’s death and announced that he died by suicide.
