Major agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will send notes this week to U.S. hospitals and health care providers, reminding them of “hazardous chemicals and surgical amputations in children, including interventions that cause sterilization,” and the agency will continue its policies with President Donald Trump’s executive order.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), which provides health insurance to more than 100 million people through Medicare, Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance programs, has repeatedly reiterated the digital version of FOX News, saying, “The minimum evidence is known with the dignity and compliance to serve all patients, especially children. Notes will take effect immediately.”
“Other developed countries are taking critical action to prohibit or significantly limit these mutilation practices so that children are protected from harmful and unscientific medical interventions,” the memo adds.

The notice also states, “CMS may begin to take future measures to coordinate policies, including regulated provider requirements and contracts, along with the highest quality medical evidence in the country’s children’s treatment, in order for children to protect children from often irreversible amputations, including sterilization practices.
“In recent years, medical interventions for gender violations in children have been growing,” the memo added. “Starting with evidence of underdevelopment and is now known to cause long-term and irreparable harm to some children, CMS can take future steps to coordinate policies to reflect this reality and lack of medical evidence in favour of these harmful treatments.”

Dr. Kurt Miseli, medical director of a group of conservative medical activists, said it didn’t do any harm, Fox News Digital did a “great job” to highlight medical data from other countries regarding the care of children “gender-affirming.”
“And we really respect that we look at the data and make it very clear that we need to protect our children, unfortunately, because of these irreversible harms seen from the surgical or hormonal therapy of sexual changes that are being used,” says Miceli.

The notice comes as the Trump administration has removed “radical gender ideology” in US agencies and banned treatment and surgery for gender transitions for minors.
Many hospitals across the country still carry out these procedures and ignore Trump’s orders.

The lawsuit has already challenged Trump’s other gender-related executive orders. This includes banishing transgender forces from the military and banning biological men from female sports. HHS is also undergoing changes to staffing sweep for Elon Musk’s Doge Layoffs.
The CMS memo said the warning was “informed by growing evidence and protection policies around the world,” citing studies outlining the effects of gender transition treatments in children in the UK and Finland, as well as some effects from American medical journals and Mayo Clinics.

Between 2016 and 2020, nearly 3,700 children ages 12 to 18 had surgery, over 3,200 had breast or chest surgery, and over 400 had genital surgery, leading to lasting changes in the reproductive organs. Over 6 to 17 children between 2016 and 2020 were diagnosed with gender discomfort, and over 17,000 initiating treatments, including adolescent blockers and crosshormone.

“In some notable examples, the studies used to promote these harmful procedures in children either contained clear and important methodological flaws or demonstrated total scientific misconduct,” the memo says.
