Two men arrested after an undercover detective said they saw theft at their Woodland Hills home on Tuesday.
Rondale Strickland and Jerome McClendon, both of whom 20, were charged with criminal complaint robbing a home while residents were inside a neighborhood south of Ventura Boulevard near the Tuft High School campus.
Instead of a $300,000 bail, Strickland was held without bail and without McClendon, according to booking records.
McClendon was released on bail at the time of his arrest Tuesday, following a police pursuit and previous attacks in a firearms case filed last October, court records show.
The break-in occurred around 10am, when glass doors and windows behind the residence were shattered, and the burglars apparently hadn’t noticed that undercover agents were watching.
The detective chased the man and the high-speed pursuit began when uniformed LAPD officers tried to stop the car in the mid-urban area.
The pursuit ended in a crash near 98th and Wall Street in South Los Angeles when Tesla collided with a parked car, and the man was arrested after a foot pursuit and a search of the neighborhood.
The LA County District Attorney’s Office said it has filed nearly 800 felony robberies this year, including this, and on Friday the lawsuit is under investigation.
