The 56-year-old credits his family and friends with helping him overcome the harrowing experience. He said his 14-year-old daughter, Anneliese, played guitar at his bedside, which helped keep his vital signs in check. He called it a “mental defibrillator.” After a while, Anneliese performed a duet with her father on stage.
Fox said during the surgery, “I couldn’t see the light,” but “I could see the tunnel.”
