Kelly Clarkson shared that he has postponed the rest of his “studio session” concert in Las Vegas in August as his family faces a difficult chapter.
In an Instagram post shared on Wednesday, August 6, the singer said she has postponed the August show, allowing her to support her child as her father and Clarkson’s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
“I usually keep my personal life a secret, but for the past year, my child’s father has been ill and at this point it needs to be completely present for them,” she wrote on Instagram.
Clarkson and Blackstock divorced in March 2022, two years after the announcement of the separation. The couple shares two children. His daughter River Rose was born in 2014 and his son Remington Alexander, born in 2016. Clarkson lives in New York City with his children.
It appears that the singer revised the lyrics to her 2023 songs “Mine” and “Me” and the lyrics to Olivia Rodrigo’s song “Abcdefu” during the host’s 2023 performance, and that she wrote her music over and over again through her music.
“Forgetting you and your dad, you acquired half and my broken heart and turned it into (expletive) art,” she sang at the time. This seemed to be a reference to a divorce settlement in which she had to issue more than $1 million in payments to her ex-husband.
In an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in June 2023, the Grammy Award winner said it was “liberation.”
“It’s incredibly sad, and it’s a dark place – the fetal position on the floor is crying – and there’s so much loss in it, I’ve never experienced such sadness,” she said.
“We’re now letting go of each other. This isn’t working. This isn’t going to pan out and it’s not working for either of us.”
Clarkson made a headline earlier this year for a talk show absence. She sometimes left from late February to March. Meanwhile, there are guest hosts such as Simu Liu, Roy Wood Jr. and even Willie Geist today.
