The holiday season is coming to an end, and it’s time for some hectic activity at airports.

On Friday, Los Angeles International Airport was no exception. AAA predicted last week that this year’s holiday travel season would be the busiest on record, and Los Angeles International Airport officials felt the impatience.

KTLA’s Jacqueline Sarkisian spoke to several travelers who had difficult experiences Friday morning.

Some of them were traveling domestically, but there were delays due to bad weather in various parts of the country.

One family told Sarkisian that their entire New Year’s ski trip was in jeopardy because their flight to Colorado was canceled. Another woman said her flight to Newark, New Jersey, was delayed for several hours and she didn’t know when she would be able to board the plane.

These problems are even more stressful if you stop at crowded LAX simply to connect to an international flight. Some travelers told Sarkisian that it took several hours to clear customs lines at the airport, causing some to miss their connecting flights.

One Australian man told Sarkisian he missed his connecting flight to Vancouver because of customs and didn’t know if there would be another flight to his destination on Friday.

“You could be stuck at the airport overnight,” he said, adding that he was no longer able to go on a tour to Canada that he had booked for Friday.

After that, the line to arrange another flight through the airline was also long. That stress, along with the fatigue from hours-long flights from Australia and Asia, made Friday an unbearable travel day for some.
