Firefighters have a tough job, but a swarm of bees that occurred while battling a building fire on Sunday morning made their job even harder.
Los Angeles Fire Department officials confirmed the fire broke out just before 11 a.m. in the 1600 block of New Jersey Street in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.
LAFD said, “The fire appears to have occurred in the corner of a living space that was added to the rear of the house.” “The fire spread through the walls and into the main building garage.”

LAFD detailed that two garages and a one-story apartment were also exposed to the flames. A video posted to the Citizen app shows smoke billowing into the sky on a sunny morning.

Ultimately, 54 firefighters were able to extinguish the fire just over 30 minutes after it started, and there were no reports of injuries.
“While firefighters carry out overhaul work, [worked] “We are working diligently to safely manage the bee swarm outside the building while protecting the vehicles inside the garage,” officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
