Los Angeles police announced Wednesday that they have arrested a man suspected of raping multiple women, and investigators are searching for additional victims.
Law enforcement officials said in a written statement that the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Kenneth Alan Woolfolk, is involved in at least four rapes in total.
His arrest came more than a week after a woman reported to police that she was raped by a man inside a tent near the intersection of 1st Street and Judge John Aiso Avenue in Little Tokyo.
As part of the investigation, detectives returned to the scene on Oct. 10 and noticed a homeless man matching the description of the woman’s attacker, the department said. Detectives took the man into custody, later identified as Woolfolk, and arrested him on suspicion of rape.
During the investigation, detectives learned of three previous sexual assault investigations that identified Woolfolk as a suspect. Police said they are currently searching for additional victims and are asking anyone with information to call (800) 222-8477.
