Suddenly launched from a hugely popular real-life dating show surrounding racial slurs of the past, the contestant of “Love Island USA” is breaking her silence.
On July 6th, the dramatic exit from the villa at Cierra Ortega was announced by the show’s narrator Iain Stirling, citing “personal circumstances.”
The move follows a backlash against racial slur against Asians that was made on social media by Ortega last year. Fans of the show were particularly upset as Ortega was accused of using words, even after one of her followers told her he was offensive.
However, the real contestant said that was not true.
“When this person messaged me, I am grateful that she had a good conversation with her. I made an immediate revision. The words were quickly removed from my vocabulary,” she explained on Instagram on July 9th. That wasn’t the case. ”

Ortega said she agreed to Peacock’s decision to take her out of the villa. The 7th finale of “Love Island” will air on July 13th.
Over 1 billion minutes have been viewed this season. The streamer said 40% of them are new audiences.
