A Los Angeles County man spends 30 years in federal prison to produce and distribute disturbing child abuse videos showing sexually abusing a toddler.
David Lisandro Perez Figueroa, 23, of Monrovia, was sentenced to a lifetime of 360 months in federal prison and supervised release in federal court on Monday, and he was ordered to pay $2,799 in reparations.
At least from July 2023 until his arrest later that year, Perez Figueroa sexually abused a two-year-old child and distributed the video to X, a social media platform previously known as Twitter.
The X account linked to Perez Figueroa was discovered by British law enforcement agencies and was investigating another issue.
On December 5th, 2023, a search warrant was provided at his home and he was taken into custody.
Perez Figueroa remained in custody for several months and eventually pleaded guilty to a felony in November 2024.
His 30-year sentence is less than the statutory maximum sentence of 50 years in federal prison as part of a two-count indictment.
The incident was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security.
