Miles Garrett is in Cleveland after the Browns gave him a record four-year contract extension that made the Browns the highest-paid non-quarterly in NFL history.

A detailed knowledgeable person told The Associated Press that Garrett’s transactions include a $122.8 million guarantee, with an average annual salary of $40 million, including $20004.8 million. The terminology was not published and he spoke on Sunday on condition of anonymity.

Garrett, the 2023 AP defensive player of the year, had been seeking a deal last month, but the Browns were keen to keep the 29-year-old star in Cleveland.

Garrett’s deal will source other non-QB bars, including Bengals All-Pro wide receiver Ja’marr Chase and Cowboys Edge Rusher Micah Parsons. Cincinnati has already stated plans to make Chase the highest-paid non-QB in the league.

Garrett, the first round pick of 2017, lost 14 sacks and 22 tackles last season. He has 102 1/2 sacks in eight seasons with the Browns.

Garrett has only played in three playoff games against Cleveland.
