Costco is a US membership warehouse club with over 800 locations worldwide and over 600 members.
The wholesale company reported mixed revenue for the second quarter this week, missing revenue, but below revenue expectations.
CEO Ron Vachris also addressed the possible impact of the threatened tariffs proposed by the Trump administration. Trump imposed 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada, doubling China’s tariffs to 20%, but the White House later said the US would exempt it from goodness complying with the US-Mexico-Canada agreement until April 2nd.
“In times of uncertainty, our members have historically made the value of high quality items even more important at high prices, and our team will continue to rise to this challenge by leveraging our global purchasing power, strong supplier relationships and innovation,” Vachris said.
