Zoran Mamdani, a Democratic mayoral candidate in New York City, launched his “Five Boroughs Against Trump” tour at the Big Apple on Monday as President Donald Trump’s agenda became central to the New York City campaign trail.

Mamdani began an anti-Trump tour in Manhattan on Monday morning with Rep. Jerry Nadler. He is scheduled to visit Brooklyn on Tuesday, Staten Island on Wednesday, the Bronx on Thursday and Queens on Friday, Fox News confirmed.

The 33-year-old self-proclaimed socialist tour rejects the Trump administration’s drastic second term agenda and so-called “authoritarian” attacks on working New Yorkers, particularly on immigration and healthcare reform.

“There is no borough that will free you from Trump’s cruelty,” Mamdani said Monday. “We feel the pain of this law, whether we’re in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, Staten Island or not. We’re shining light on the costs of this vision coming out of Washington, DC this week and every week.”

Trump warns New York “never the same” if “communist” Mamdani is elected

Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani will speak at a rally at the Hotel & Games Trade Council headquarters in New York on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

“Donald Trump is targeting New York City as he is a full-scale attack on American democracy, dismantling our institutions, attacking our universities and scientific research foundations, using the power of government to serve himself and his donors, and is constantly watching what he is seeing,” Nadler said Monday.

During the opening “Trump Against Manhattan” event, Mamdani joined NYC Councillor Carmen de Lasa, New York Councillor Keith Epstein and Harvey Epstein, former President of Manhattan Borough Ruth Messinger, 119999999 Councillor Carmen de La Rosa, 11999 United Nations Service Employees (SEU) in 1199 United Nations Service Employees (SEIU).

Mamdani has tied former Governor Andrew Cuomo to Trump in recent weeks as he remains in the race to run New York City as an independent candidate despite losing the Democratic primary to Mamdani in June.

Incumbent mayor Eric Adams, who has developed his own public relations with the president, is also independent, with Guardian Angels CEO Curtis Swawah being a Republican candidate.

“Commander Mamdani is an American’s worst nightmare,” White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told Fox News Digital. “His communist policy will crater our economy, increase crime, crowd Americans with free medical care for illegal immigration, and refund the brave men and women of law enforcement who will keep us safe.”

The White House added that “Mamdani’s idea of “immigration reform” is neither a border or a pardon for all the violent, criminal and illegal aliens Joe Biden has released to our country. “The Americans repeatedly rejected this communist agenda, and the more Mamdani shares his radical policies, the more Americans will.”

As House members returned to their hometown districts during the August break, Democrats are opposed to Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” that passed narrowly last month.

“New York City needs a leader who doesn’t give Trump an inch and won’t overturn or dig into our rights,” Nadler added. “With Zohran Mamdani as mayor, we have leaders who defend hospitals, schools and neighbors from Trump’s devastating policies.

The New York Times reported last week that Trump was talking to Cuomo on the phone recently, talking to his peers about which candidate has the best chance of defeating Mamdani in November. Meanwhile, Mamdani explains how his administration will become Trump’s “worst nightmare.”

The president immediately criticized Mamdani when socialists shocked the political world and pleaded for the Democratic candidate to become New York City’s next mayor in June, calling him a “100% communist madman.”

“I believe there are too many similarities between Donald Trump and Andrew Cuomo. There are too many stories that reveal that either administration is characterized by a sense of corruption, immunity.
