The men who oversee the country’s military have reposted a video about Christian nationalist churches, including various pastors who say women should not be allowed to vote.

X’s extraordinary repost from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegses, made Thursday night, shows his deep personal connection to a Christian nationalist pastor with an extreme view on religion and the role of women.

In the post, Heggs commented on a nearly seven-minute report by CNN that considered the reformed evangelical church or CREC’s communion co-founder Doug Wilson. The report features a pastor at Wilson Church, advocating for the abolition of women’s right to vote from the constitution, and another pastor says in his ideal world, people vote as households. It also featured a congregation of women who said she would submit to her husband.

“All of all Christ in life,” Hegses wrote in his post that it accompanied the video.

Hegseth’s post received over 12,000 likes and 2,000 shares on X. Some users agreed to the video pastor, while others have issued an alarm to the Secretary of Defense, promoting the ideas of Christian nationalists.

Doug Paggit, pastor and executive director of the Progressive Evangelical organization, voted for the common interest and said the video’s idea was “protected by the small Christian ties,” and that Hegses would amplify it was “very unsettling.”

Pentagon chief spokesman Sean Parnell told the Associated Press on Friday that Hegses is a “pride member of the church” and is affiliated with Kleck.

In May, Hegses invited his personal pastor, Brooks Pottigeiger, to the pentagon to lead the beginning of several Christian prayer services that Hegses had inside government buildings during his working hours. Department of Defense employees and service members said they received invitations to the event via government email.

“I want this country to be a Christian nation, and the world to become Christian world,” Wilson said in a CNN report.

Washington AP journalist Mike Pesoli and New York’s Ali Swenson contributed to this report.
