A review by Fox News Digital, Progressive Senator Bernie Sanders supported the Democratic candidate for New York City Secretary, who has a history of bringing racist, sexist and homophobic statements online as a former punk rock musician.
Sanders supports Justin Brannan, a Democrat New York City Councilman currently running for Secretary, and said he will fight corruption and support the working class. Brannan’s campaign website states that in the music scene he comes up, “people look for each other and pick each other up when they fall.”
Brannan says he brought these values into his job as a New York City councillor and that he would do as city director.

He then added, “When I hit my b—- I find myself even more intimidating with my shaved head.”
Brannan also laughs at Asians, writing in a 1999 post that “Chinese people can’t drive,” and in another post, “things you never see” is “Chinese driving instructor.” That same year, he laughed at the actor “Murder: Life on the Street” and New York City native Yaphet Kott, writing, “Yaphet Koto? Yum. I love brown rice.”
The Democratic candidate was also repeatedly sparred with a disabled list member and said, “If you’re really lame, it’s pretty funny. Do you guess what I did today? Was I walking around town? Hahahaha!
Brannan was accused of bullying autistic colleagues while as a New York City government employee, along with other city employees. The staff received a $850,000 court settlement paid by the city in 2021, according to a report by the New York Post.
