Rapper Tory Lanes, who spends time shooting Megan Taterion in 2020, was hospitalized Monday morning after being stabbed by another inmate in a California prison.

A law enforcement source told The Times. The attack occurred around 7:20am at the residential unit of the California Institute of Corrections in Tejachapi, with prison staff “responding quickly, revitalizing 911 and starting medical aid,” California Department of Corrections spokesman Pedro Calderon Michel said in a statement. Peterson was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

An Instagram account attributed to Lanez said the rapper was stabbed 14 times. Post said he suffered from the lungs that fell from the attack, but was breathing himself and “I am well and deeply grateful to God that he is pulling out.”

The California Institute of Corrections and the Kern County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the case, the statement said. The inspector’s office was also notified of the attack. According to TMZ, which broke the news, the motive for the stab wound remains unknown.

Peterson’s legal representative did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The 32-year-old Canadian musician has been sentenced to 10 years in a state prison for shooting a Grammy-winning “Savage” artist (legal name Megan Pete) in the feet for gun charges stemming from a 2020 incident. Peterson was convicted in December 2022 of assault on firearms, illegal possession of a firearm and negligent firearms and discharge from the hospital.

Popular in the late 2000s, Peterson continues to face legal heat from Pete, even behind the bar. The “His” musician filed a restraining order request against Peterson in December 2024, claiming that he continues his “harassment campaign” through online trolls and bloggers attacked her credibility and spreading statements of honor and loss.

A Los Angeles judge granted the request in January, extending Pete’s restraint order to Peterson until 2030.
