Security guards chase four intruders from Tyler Perry’s property in Los Angeles County

Security guards chased four masked intruders out of Tyler Perry’s Beverly Ridge Estates mansion on Wednesday, according to surveillance footage obtained by TMZ.

During the chase, the intruder left behind a backpack filled with tools common in residential burglaries, including a crowbar, gloves, a hat, a saw and a cell phone.

KTLA’s Rachel Menitoff spoke with neighbors who said break-ins are a big problem in the area, and thieves are getting smarter and more brazen by the day.

Perry’s property is located on the edge of a high-traffic area in Coldwater Canyon, a major artery that brings cars from the city to the canyon and vice versa, and residents say it is home to vacant buildings. It is said that it is also a place that attracts thieves who look for and plunder.

Early on the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 4, surveillance photos obtained by TMZ showed what appeared to be four masked individuals wearing gloves and ball caps walking through bushes on Perry’s property. .

Perry’s on-site security personnel spotted the intruder using thermal imaging and removed him from the premises.

Don Moore, a certified conservation expert and president of Moore Protection, said the actor was well-secured, surmising that the robbers probably entered the backyard from an adjacent neighborhood or a fire road.

Although Moore did not personally install Perry’s security system, he said he is familiar with the area.

“Even if he had an infrared camera and no one else could have responded, he probably wouldn’t have been able to prevent the crime. But the fact that there was a security guard on the scene helped him a lot. ” Moore said.

Neighbors living in this Coldwater cul-de-sac are worried about their safety.

A neighbor who didn’t want to give her name but said she knew Perry socially said, “Something has happened recently and everyone is a little nervous.”

She said robbers were now entering people’s homes disguised as workers and gardeners.

“People need to be really careful because not everyone who has a blower is a gardener,” the neighbor said. “Most of the time they have walkie-talkies and they talk to the big person or someone else or communicate with other people.”

Los Angeles Police Department officers entered Perry’s property Wednesday, but by the time they arrived, the robber was gone.

Perry was reportedly present at the press conference, but has not publicly addressed the incident.
