A new report alleges that powerful figures in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department may have tried to appoint one of the department’s own sheriffs as political retaliation.
Lt. Joseph Garrido was accused of using a department-issued vehicle on a trip to Arizona in 2022, a crime that “if true could have resulted in disciplinary action and even prosecution,” Los Angeles said.・The Times reports.
