The Orange County community is concerned about a string of violent and destructive robberies targeting the same area over the past few weeks.
The reported robberies are centered around an upscale gated community called The Groves at Orchard Hills in Irvine.
Surveillance cameras captured the intruder wandering around the backyard, looking for an opportunity to break into the home.
According to residents, eight homes have been robbed so far, with one incident turning violent.
“It’s already the eighth time, and it’s really daunting,” said a resident, who requested anonymity for safety reasons. “I’m scared and anxious.”
Neighbors have discovered hidden cameras pointing at the house, and it appears they are trying to time the break-in when the residents are leaving.

Neighbors are fearful and frustrated, and many are calling on city officials and police to address their concerns with increased security and patrols.
“Something needs to be done,” one resident said.
“I’m here today to reassure the community that we are working very closely with the Irvine Police Department,” said Vigar, HOA president of The Groves at Orchard Hills. said the doctor.
Police told KTLA that areas across Southern California are increasingly being targeted by professional thieves with ties to international theft rings and criminal groups. They told residents they are aware of the issue and are working to combat future incidents.
“We’ve put a lot of resources into this problem,” said Irvine Police Officer Kyle Oldorp. “Some things are easy to see, some are not. We have officers on extra patrol. We have covert resources, surveillance teams here, we use our real-time crime center. It has a video camera.”
Irvine Police will hold a town hall meeting Wednesday night to discuss and address residents’ concerns.
So far, no suspects have been arrested. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Irvine Police at 949-724-6000.
