A Southern California piano teacher has been arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl.
Santa Monica police identified the suspect as Hovaness John Jihanyan, 41, of Van Nuys.
The alleged sexual abuse began in July 2024, when the victim was 13 years old. Jihanyan teaches piano at the French Conservatory of Music in Beverly Hills.
Police said the sex acts between the suspect and the girl took place at multiple locations, including the girl’s home, the suspect’s car, and a studio.
On Thursday, Santa Monica police arrested Jihanyan in Encino.

He was arrested on multiple charges including:

“This is the result of a thorough and thorough investigation by SMPD Youth Services Division detectives,” a Santa Monica Police Department spokesperson said.
Investigators believe there may be other victims who have not come forward. Jihanyan remains in Santa Monica police custody. Authorities noted he had no prior criminal history.
