A suspect has been arrested after a man’s body was found on a busy Pomona road earlier this week.
According to the Pomona Police Department, the suspect has been identified as Christian Rubalcaba, 38.
On Aug. 24, police responded to a report of a man collapsed in the 2000 block of North Town Avenue.
Arriving officers found the victim, Luis Ernesto Villanueva Romero, 39, face down and unresponsive in the southbound lanes of Town Avenue.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Detectives later identified Rubalcaba as the primary suspect in Villanueva-Romero’s death. On December 3, he was located by Montclair police officers, where he was taken into custody.

Authorities have not released details about what led to Villanueva-Romero’s death or whether the two men knew each other.
On December 5, Rubalcaba was charged with manslaughter, felon in possession of a firearm, tampering with evidence, and firearm enhancement.
