The Los Angeles Rams have released wide receiver Coopap, the team announced Wednesday.

By releasing Kupp before June 1st, the Rams will save $20 million on their 2025 salary cap. His guaranteed salary for next year is just $5 million.

In a social media post, Rams said, “The pillar of this franchise and community.

Kupp expressed great interest on social media earlier last month in continuing his career with the Rams.

“I didn’t agree with this decision and I always believed it would start and end in LA,” he said.

Kupp was drafted in 2017 by the Rams. Up until eight seasons with the team, he played 104 games, catching 634 balls for a total of 7,776 yards and making 57 touchdowns.

He added an additional 742 and seven touchdowns during the playoffs, pushing the Rams up before the Bengals 23-20, including a score that went ahead with a Super Bowl 56, and earning the Super Bowl MVP.

His 2021 season is one of the biggest stats seasons in history, as he became the fifth player to date to win the triple chrome, and is the leader of the league reception, receiving the leader of the yard and the touchdown leader. Others include Jerry Rice, Sterling Sharp, Steve Smith Sr. and Jammer Chase.

The cup will be replaced by former Jets wide receiver Davante Adams, who signed a two-year, $46 million contract with the Rams. Adams is 3 All-Pros, 6 Pro-Bowlers and 2 Touchdown Leaders (2020, 2022).
