Fabio Sementi, the wife of a celebrity hairstylist, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for her husband’s murder.
Monica Semenilli was sentenced Monday after she was more than two months after being convicted of murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the 2017 murder in Woodland Hills.
Fabio and Monica Cementi can be seen in this undated photo.
Together with her boyfriend Robert Baker, she arranged for the fatal stab wounds of her husband by her husband and Baker’s accomplice, Christopher Austin.
Baker was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, and Austin was sentenced to 16 years in prison for two-degree murder.
Monica Semenrilli avoided a costly divorce and instead wanted to receive payments from her husband’s life insurance, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said when she announced her conviction.
“Monica Semenri betrayed the person she loved and trusted the most,” district attorney Nathan Hochman said at the release announcing the sentence. “Her calculated scheme to benefit from her husband’s death has spent his life of a kind and talented man and destroyed his family. Today’s writing guarantees that she will spend her life behind the bar.
Hochman also noted “complex, long-standing investigations and prosecutions” when thanking law enforcement and prosecutors.
“Thanks to the relentless work of our prosecutors, especially the Associate District Attorneys Beth Silverman and Heather Stegel, and the truth, our partners in law enforcement, has emerged and justice has served Fabio and everyone who loved him,” he said.
