The only thing more exciting than a concert is a surprise concert. That’s exactly what Southern California’s iconic rock band Linkin Park has put out.
Earlier this week, the group, whose lead singer Chester Bennington passed away in 2017, posted a countdown on social media. When the timer expired, the band livestreamed a surprise concert featuring new co-leader Emily Armstrong. As fans know, Linkin Park went on an indefinite hiatus in the wake of Bennington’s unfortunate death (and a memorial show at the Hollywood Bowl shortly thereafter).
In addition to the virtual performance, the band released a new single and music video. Announcement of new album “From Zero”. The band then shockingly announced plans to kick off a shortened six-show world tour on September 11th at the Kia Forum in Inglewood. Without a doubt one of the best upcoming concerts in LA and one of the best events around town this season.

Linkin Park will kick off their “From Zero” World Tour on September 11th at the Kia Forum in Inglewood. On-going tour destinations include New York, Hamburg, Germany, London, Seoul, and Bogotá, Colombia.

Who is the current lead singer of Linkin Park?
The music world was shocked when Bennington died by suicide at the age of 41 in 2017. Since then, the band is currently on a seven-year hiatus, which is why the announcement of this concert is such a big deal.
Armstrong of local hard rock band Dead Sarah will officially take over Bennington’s spot as lead vocalist, joining longtime group members Brad Delson, Joe Hahn, Phoenix and Mike Shinoda. A new drummer, Colin Britten, was also announced.
