President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Voldimi Zelensky on Monday, praised the strength of the US military industrial bases and emphasized that US weapons are key to Kiev’s resistance to Russia.
“You mentioned the Patriots – how good are they?” Trump asked Zelensky, referring to Raytheon’s missile system.
“They are literally 100% fluff. It’s really like two bullets that hit each other in the air,” Trump explained about the Patriots’ hit technology.
Trump says we’ll send Patriot missiles to Ukraine, Putin tells us a good story, then he adds that he will bomb everyone.
Trump said during his administration that US policies focused on selling military technology to European allies rather than directly funding arms packages. He estimated that under former President Joe Biden, Washington provided Kiev with more than $300 billion in US military equipment.

“We’re not giving anything now,” Trump revealed when asked how much the US would be given to Ukraine. “We sell weapons.”
Zelenskyy thanked Trump for the opportunity to purchase American-made defense equipment, noting that Europe and NATO allies helped Ukraine cover the costs.

Built and bred for war by Raytheon, the American Patriot missile system became the cornerstone of Ukraine’s air defense, particularly around Kiev and other major cities.
The Patriot System is a short phased array tracking radar for target intercepts – is designed to intercept incoming short-range ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones, making it suitable for protecting Ukraine from Russian strikes that exist. Ukraine has received several Patriot missile batteries so far, at least three from the US, two from Germany and two from Romania.
“The good news is that we are making the best military equipment in the world,” Trump added.
The US has provided nearly $67 billion in military aid since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, according to the State Department. The US has invoked the Emergency President’s Drawdown Bureau 55 times since 2021, supplying Ukraine with approximately $31.7 billion in weapons and equipment directly drawn from the Pentagon’s stockpile.
