Alhambra police arrested the suspect after a wild pursuit that ended when the man was hiding in a garage and dressed in a large rug.
According to the Alhambra Police Department, officers initially noticed reports of stolen vehicles from the city of Orange near Fremont and Commonwealth Avenue.
When they went to do a traffic stop, the driver first pulled in compliance. However, he then spewed at a high speed and began a pursuit, police said.
Bodycam footage posted by the department on social media shows the incident occurred on the afternoon of February 26th.

“He ran into Los Angeles city and ran to a nearby residence,” the Alhambra Police Department said on Instagram. “The boundaries were set and officers began searching the area.”
Officers were checking the residence’s backyard when K9 Doggo warned the garage. There, the suspect, identified by police as Juan Hernandez, was found wrapped in a large rug behind several storage boxes. Police said he refused to raise his hand first because he had claimed he was stuck and unable to move.

“After some manipulation and a lot of regrets, he pushed the box away and came out,” Alhambra police said. “Unfortunately for the suspect, K9 Doggo has a nose because of bad hiding places.”
Hernandez, a resident of Los Angeles, was arrested and booked at the Alhambra Police Station prison.
