Parts of coastal Los Angeles County faced evacuation orders after wind-driven wildfires started in the Pacific Palisades.
The fire burned hundreds of acres in just a few hours Tuesday morning, when red flag warnings were in effect across Southern California. The warning is expected to remain in place until Thursday.
An evacuation order was issued for a village in the mountains overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The driver, who was traveling on the Pacific Coast Highway and other roads, encountered the vehicle following him as he attempted to leave the area.
Evacuation orders and warnings were issued for the following areas Tuesday afternoon:

An evacuation order means there is immediate danger to life. Residents are ordered by law to vacate the following areas:

Additionally, evacuation orders were issued for the fire area up to the Pacific Coast Highway.
