Powerhouse singer and former American idol star Adam Lambert recently made his Broadway debut as a host at the Tony Award-winning cabaret last year at the Kit Cut Club in New York. The 43-year-old star is now set to get Jesus Christ superstar Judas to pay the stage chop again in our own Hollywood Bowl from August 1st to 3am.
Additionally, Lambert will star in the opposite side of fellow vocal powerhouse Cynthia Eribo, previously announced to take on the role of Jesus.
Show tickets are available online until 10am tomorrow.
Productions are like homecoming. Show – Eating Musical Lyrics with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tim Rice was originally performed in the Hollywood Bowl in 1971.
Originally performed at the Hollywood Bowl in 1971, the production is a bit of a homecoming. The lyrics are by Tim Rice and the music is by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The current production is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Sergio Trujillo. Tony and Grammy Award winner Stephen Olemas is responsible for directing the production musically.
“For many Angelenos and concert attendees, the Hollywood Bowl is the best summer destination for live music,” Rafil’s president and CEO Kim Nolt Mee said in an official statement. “Each season, Raphil presents world-class artists in a truly unique setting, and this year is no exception. We welcome Adam Lambert to the cast of Jesus Christ superstars, and look forward to sharing this bold, fresh interpretation of the legendary musical, bringing that rock root back to the audience.”
Tickets are expected to sell out pretty soon tomorrow. Set these alarms!
