The Southern California community will celebrate the anniversary with ceremonies, parades, concerts and family events honoring men and women who have passed away while serving in the US military.

Let’s take a look at the festivals happening throughout Los Angeles County.

Forest lawn

Forest lawn locations throughout Los Angeles County host anniversary events featuring keynote speeches, patriotic music and ceremonial wreath presentations.

The event will start at 10am in Covina Hills, Long Beach, Cypress and Hollywood, and there will be a 1pm ceremony at Forest Rooster Glendale.

Hermosa Beach

Fiesta Hermosa Beach’s annual Memorial Day Weekend Festival will host a memory ceremony on Mondays from 1:30pm to 2pm on the acoustic stages at Pier Plaza and Strand.

San Pedro

In San Pedro, LA Fleet Week concludes with an anniversary observance before 250 S. Harbor Blvd at 5:15pm before USS Battleship Iowa. The event will include color presentations and keynote speakers.

Rancho Palos Verdes

Rancho Palos Verdes’ Green Hills Memorial Park hosts skydivers and 10am observance, mounted coloured processions, elevated roads and music.

Lakewood

Lakewood will hold its annual tribute at Veterans Memorial Plaza in Delvale Park at 11am. This year’s keynote speaker is Jim Zenner, a veteran of the Iraq War and director of the LA County Army Veterans Affairs Bureau.

Inglewood

Inglewood will host Memorial Day Service from 11am to 1pm at 1W. Manchester Avenue, South Mall.

Redondo Beach

Redondo Beach will hold a 1pm ceremony at Veterans Park at 309 Esplanade, with the retired Leah Advanis Sandiadamus as keynote speaker.

Canoga Park

The 33rd Canoga Park Memorial Day Parade begins with the opening ceremony at 10am, followed by the 11am parade along the Sherman Way from Owensmouth Avenue to Cosacroft Street. This year’s theme honor has become a graduate of Canoga Park High School.

Burbank

In Burbank, the 10am ceremony at McCanbridge Park War Memorial will include a Condor Squadron Flyover and performances by the Burbank Community Band.
