The two brothers have been arrested for allegedly running a delivery service that distributes drugs to young children throughout Ventura County.
The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Enrique Benitez and 26-year-old Eric Benitez, 26, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives began investigating delivery services reports in February 2025. The brothers sold psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, steam and nicotine, targeting the boys primarily at schools in Ventura County.
They are said to have sold the drugs through social media and online messaging platforms.
Authorities said one boy who purchased psilocybin mushrooms from the service was hospitalized after taking the medication.
On March 25, lawmakers served as a search warrant at a residence in the 4800 block of South Rose Avenue.
The suspect was arrested for allegedly operating a drug delivery service targeting a juvenile client, selling psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, steam and nicotine. (Ventura County Sheriff’s Office)
Lawmakers discovered 88 marijuana steamers, about 20 grams of psilocybin, 10 sheets of nicotine steamers and a large amount of loose marijuana.
They also discovered US currency of over $2,000 and a loaded P-80 non-serialized handgun, also known as the “ghost gun.”
The brothers were arrested on multiple charges including selling controlled substances to minors, possessing controlled substances for sale, and the dangers of children.
They are each held on bail of $250,000. No further details have been made public as the case is under investigation.
