The parents of a 7-month-old boy who claimed his child was lured last week are reportedly the focus of an investigation into missing persons.

Rebecca Halo initially claimed that her little boy, Emmanuel Halo, was lured out of the car park of the Big 5 sports goods store in Yucaipa on August 14th.

No amber alerts were issued due to no descriptions of the suspect or vehicle.

Deputies from both the San Bernardino and Riverside County Sheriff’s departments began a wide search to deploy helicopters and K-9 units, but ultimately there were no children or suspects.

“There’s a lot we’re reading, but it’s just that we can’t plan,” Cabazon resident Mary Espinoza, who follows the story closely, told KTLA.

Detectives from SBSD’s Specialist Investigation Division interviewed several people, including Rebecca and her husband Jake Halo. When confronted with contradictions in her story, investigators say she refused to continue talking.

When authorities asked her to get tested for a lie detector, her husband reportedly refused the request until a lawyer was present.

Investigators have stopped strictly on the investigation, but the grandmother of a child who claims their parents are innocent told KTLA that lawmakers searched the couple’s Kabazon residence with their Kaider dog.

Since then, on August 3rd, there has been a new revelation that includes a possible video of Rebecca with her cunning and dark eyes.

The conviction stems from arrest in Hemet in 2018, but Jake was married to another woman, the Orange County Register reported.

On October 13, 2018, Halo and Abina’s 10-week-old daughter were admitted to Hemet Valley Hospital. Doctors reported to police that the girl had a “acute” fracture, a “healing” fracture, a skull fracture, a cerebral hemorrhage, swelling of the neck, and six ribs with a broken leg bone that was “healing.”

“In the absence of a plausible history of important trauma to explain injuries, the combination of the above findings in pre-mobile infants indicates abuse (sic) head trauma, child physical abuse, and nutritional neglect.”

Halo reportedly blamed his wife for the injury. Both were arrested and pleaded guilty to the charges in 2023.

As the search for Emmanuel continues, investigators now say they have not ruled out foul plays and were seen again on Halo’s Cabazon property on Monday.

Uvalde Foundation for Kids, which initially rewarded $5,000 for information that led to a seven-month post-life recovery, elicited the reward within a day of announcing the offer, citing concerns over the inconsistencies in Haro’s story.

In the meantime, Rebecca and Jake, who initially pleaded very publicly for their son’s safe return, have removed their phone numbers from the missing person’s flyer and are now holding their lawyers as they are no longer answering the phone.
