Clint Eastwood has made headlines for a recent interview.
Kurier, a German outlet, said Hollywood legend encouraged filmmakers to come up with original ideas, revealing they were not interested in remakes or franchise ideas. He also said that he has no plans to retire, despite him being just 95 years old.
However, there is one major problem with the interview. Eastwood claims it never happened.
This article was published on Friday. There are around 103,000 distributions in the outlet, but it spreads thanks to the major outlets picking up it. After Word returned to the five-time Oscar winner, he set the record straight and issued a statement.
“Several items about me have been featured in the news recently,” Eastwood said in a statement obtained by Deadline. “I thought I would set the record straight. I can confirm that I’m 95. I’ve never interviewed Austrian publications or any other Austrian publications in recent weeks, and I can also confirm that the interviews are completely fake.”
Although there has not been a direct response from Kurier yet, this article currently has a disclaimer that the site is investigating allegations made by the director and states that it will not comment until it is finished.
