Illinois Governor JB Pretzker, a leading Democratic leader and rumored presidential candidate, has signed a bill that opens financial aid to all residents regardless of their immigration status, paving the way for illegal immigration to receive educational financial benefits.
The move was condemned by conservative Mary Miller and R-Ill Rep. Mary Miller. He rewarded illegal immigrants and “slapped” Illinois families and students.
The bill aims to establish “eligibility for financial aid and benefits equity” for all students in the state.
The bill states that “students who are resident of Illinois and otherwise unqualified for federal financial aid will be eligible for financial aid and benefits by transgender students who are disqualified if they fail to register for elective services or non-citizen students who do not have a legitimate permanent resident.”

State Sen. Serena Villanueva, a Democrat who is one of the bill’s sponsors, congratulated Pretzker on signing the bill by saying, “This law is to ensure that no students are left for the place of birth.”
A statement by Villanueva’s office said the measure “eliminates a patchwork of confused and sometimes contradictory requirements that excluded students of undocumented, potential and mixed status from critical aid.”
According to the statement, the law involves students resident in Illinois and qualifies for financial aid programs funded or administered by state, local governments, or public universities.
The statement said the law was “based on Villanueva’s long-standing advocacy for immigrants and first-generation students by creating a more consistent and comprehensive channel to access support.”

“If you live in Illinois and are pursuing higher education, you should be able to access the same opportunities as your peers,” Villanueva said. “Illinois invests in all of our students and we are committed to helping them succeed.”
Commenting on the law, Miller told Fox News Digital that “permitting taxpayer-funded financial aid for illegal foreigners is a slap in the face for hard-working families and students in Illinois.”
“Our state is owned in debt, but JB Pritzker is determined to discharge even more taxpayer dollars to reward illegals,” she said. “That’s absolutely shameful.”
A spokesman for the Illinois GOP also rang, telling Fox News Digital, “One more, Governor Pritzker is proof that he prioritizes illegal immigrants at the expense of Illinois families.”

“Illinois taxpayers should not pay benefits to hard-earned taxpayer dollars to illegal immigrants who should not be here in the first place,” the spokesman added.
