The Ohio company recalls 15,000 oyster crackers that can be contaminated by metals.
Masilon-based Shearer Foods issued a voluntary recall of crackers sold in the US under Aldi, Walmart and Giant Eagle store labels in February. Crackers can be contaminated with stainless steel wire, and the US Food and Drug Administration now publishes Class II-level classifications.
California has over 300 Walmart locations and 109 Aldi locations.
Level II means that exposure “can cause temporary or medically reversible health effects,” according to the FDA.

The company says individuals known to have purchased the item have been contacted.
