Officials arrested the man after an 11-mile pursuit through High Dessert earlier this week, officials say.

According to a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department media release, the Apple Valley Station deputies were sent to the house with a call from the subject threatening to hurt his ex-fiance and himself.

The exact location of where the call came from has not been revealed.

The seven-year-old girl died in Van Nuis’s apartment.

“The context of threat and previous contacts with subjects led to multiple agents responding to the area,” SBSD said. “when [a deputy] In attempting to contact the subject, he drove the vehicle towards multiple patrol units and fled the area. ”

The man identified as Terence Fonsworth Billingsley led the agent in a chase that lasted about 11 miles. Chase ended near the intersection of CA-18 and Corwin Road in Apple Valley after successfully deploying the spike strip.

Billingsley, 29, was taken into custody without further incident.

He was booked to a High Desert Detention Center to avoid a felony and remains in custody on $50,000 bail, inmate records show.
