Anaheim authorities are investigating after a man was found shot to death in his car in a residential area near Disneyland.
According to preliminary reports, just before 8:45 p.m. Monday, officers were called to the 2000 block of South Mersey Lane in Anaheim for a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers found a man sitting in a vehicle suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Responding paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Video taken shortly after the shooting showed officers beginning to search for clues while cordoning off the scene with tape, and several evidence markers were seen near the gray sedan.

It is unclear whether the victim was in his own car or someone else’s car. Investigators have not yet determined a motive for the shooting, and preliminary information indicates no one was immediately taken into custody.
The deceased, whose name has not been released, is believed to be a 25-year-old resident of the area.
A woman who lived next door to the deceased man told KTLA 5th Orange County Bureau Chief Chip Yost that she was inside her home when she heard several “thuds” and immediately heard gunshots. He said he understood that.

“My daughter woke up and said, ‘There’s a gunshot,’ and then my dog ran into the backyard. I’m thinking my dog is going to get shot,” Kathryn Kelly said. “I didn’t hear anything until my son came and said, ‘Mom, there’s a crime scene tape next door.’
She described the victim as a “very nice young man” who frequented the gym and was part of a “great family”.
The area where the shooting occurred is just west of the Anaheim Convention Center and southwest of Disneyland.
