A 43-year-old Santa Ana man has been arrested in connection with two assaults, including a fatal stabbing in a McDonald’s parking lot in Santa Ana on Sunday afternoon.
The attack occurred at a shopping center near Bristol Street and Sunflower Avenue just after 3 p.m., according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
First, a woman was punched multiple times in what Officer Natalie Garcia called an unprovoked attack, and moments later a man was stabbed in the chest in the McDonald’s parking lot at 3810 S. Bristol St.

The woman’s condition is stable, but the man was pronounced dead at a local hospital. His identity has not been released, but authorities confirmed he is a 43-year-old Santa Ana resident.
“The two victims were unrelated,” police added in the update.

Justin Anthony Carlin is being held in the Santa Ana Jail on suspicion of murder and other charges.
