Many Texas Democrats who fled from a lonely star nation to a Democrat in the Republican constituency efforts have adhered to political stunts for fear that it stems from “even crazy” within the party, Texas Sen. Briscoe Cain told Fox News Digital in an interview Thursday.
“If they come back, they’ll lose in primary to someone even more socialist than them,” Cain told Fox News Digital in a Zoom interview Thursday. “Yeah, they’re actually there not from fear of Republican law, but from fear of their people, and they continue to sit outside the nation at their own disadvantage.
“You can say that a lot of them don’t want to be there. They know they’ll lose in the end, but their party is running by a lot of insanity, so they have to be there,” he continued Democrats, who left the nation on Monday.
Dozens of democratic state lawmakers fled for liberal fortresses in Illinois, Massachusetts and New York to prevent a quorum for special sessions as state lawmakers prepared to vote for a redrawn map of Congress ahead of mid-2026.
State lawmakers report they are expected to be out of the state until the end of August, when the special session ends.

Texas law requires at least two-thirds of lawmakers on either Chamber of Commerce to advance legislative issues, with Democrat minority currently holding 62 seats at the GOP’s 88.
The Texas home has been stagnant since Democrats fled over the weekend. Six Democrats are in the Austin area this week, Cain explained. That is, he explained that six more Democrats would be needed before the body could reach the quorum.
Cain said he heard that three additional Democrats were in the Houston area and would probably “provoke” the Republicans could be arrested in their absence.
“They are older members and are untook us to arrest them with the idea that they’re going to arrest their grandma? “It’s like a smart game by the Democrats,” he said.
Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows signed an arrest warrant for the Absent Democrat on Monday after state lawmakers approved such warrants and called on the Texas Department of Public Safety to arrest “delinquent Texas House Democrats.” Arrest warrants are considered primarily symbolic as they apply only to those within state policies.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) reported Thursday that the FBI agreed to his request to help Republicans find a place for derelict lawmakers to work to reach the quorum upon Democrat return.
“President Trump and Director Patel thank the federal government for supporting my call to hold these supposed lawmakers accountable for the Texas escape,” Cornyn said in a news release Thursday. “We cannot allow these unfair legislators to avoid constitutional liability.”
Cain told Fox Digital that Republicans are doing “all of our power” after Democrats fled the nation, including the Democrats launching investigations into potential bribery. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton released a survey on former presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke’s nonprofit on Wednesday, claiming it was driving people and funding democratic departures from the nation they described as political bribes.
“They are being investigated for potential bribery,” Cain told Fox Digital. “The Attorney General has also launched an investigation into Beto O’Rourke’s bribery organization, and we will inform you that you will vote or be willingly approved or willful to do so under the Texas Criminal Code.
In response to the investigation, O’Rourke described Texas Republicans as “a thug” trying to steal our country and accused Paxton of bribery.

Democrat governors such as Illinois’ government JB Pretzker and New York governor Kathy Hochul have since opened the proverbs to Texas Democrats who fled the Lone Star nation.
Cain said he hasn’t lost the irony that Democrats fled to a state with a long history of accepting gerrymanders.
“Of course, the irony of this whole strike goes to a state that is part of the worst gerrymander state we have seen.
“We can now expose these hypocrite maps to the world, and they call themselves brave. But to quote Governor Greg Abbott, they are very non-Texans and the Texans do not run away from the battle,” he continued.
Texas Democrats flee the nation to stop Trump-backed votes in districts with dramatic legislative moves
Texas lawmakers used Quorum Break as a political strategy dating back to 1870, and it was last unfolded in 2021. This escaped to Washington, D.C. from an attempt to block the passage of the Voting and Election Integrity Act, and from an attempt to rezone the 2004 walkout.
Cain said history shows that such stunts are not fruitful for Democrats.
“The Democrats lost their seats every time they came back. It could be a hint that voters aren’t valuing them. We still passed the law, so it’s a really pure and useless move.
President Donald Trump is encouraging districts in Texas. It includes comments Tuesday that Texas district efforts could lead to five seats.
“In California, it was all gerrymander,” Trump said in an interview with CNBC on Tuesday. “And we have the opportunity to win five seats in Texas. We have a really good governor and we have a good guy in Texas. And I won Texas. As you probably know, we got the best vote in Texas history.
In Cain, Texas districts are needed as demographics have changed since 2020, when the state last re-fulfilled the voting map.

“In the past few years, Texas has changed dramatically, and our population has changed dramatically, not just from Joe Biden’s open border policy, but also from the big economic situation where people came from California, Illinois and Boston and wanted to live here. We need to update our maps to reflect the changes in our population,” he said.
