The cause of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan’s death was revealed almost a week after he passed away.

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Jean Borea, died of an acute myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack.

The New York Post was the first to confirm the cause of death. Sources also confirmed this with People Magazine.

“A heart attack occurs when flow to the heart is significantly reduced or blocked. Obstruction is usually due to the accumulation of fat, cholesterol, and other substances in the heart (coronary) arteries,” according to Mayo Clinic.

Post Page 6 was obtained from the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center Cremation Summary approval report. It has been revealed that Hogan has a history of atrial fibrillation (AFIB). This is an irregular and often very rapid heart rhythm, explained Mayo Clinic.

Health records also showed that Hogan had a history of leukemia CLL, which has not been widely known to date.

“Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is one of the most common leukemias in adults,” according to the American Cancer Society. “This is a type of cancer that begins with an early type of certain white blood cells (called lymphocytes) in the bone marrow. Cancer (leukemia) cells start in the bone marrow, but enter the blood.”

On July 24, police told WFLA, KTLA sister station in Tampa, Florida, that officers were called to the home where Hogan had a cardiac arrest before 10am and taken to Morton Factory Hospital where he was declared dead. He was 71 years old.
