Officials in the Antelope Valley are investigating after the shootout exploded the stairs just outside Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Station.
In a news release Wednesday afternoon, sheriff’s officials said deputies responded to the attack by calling a deadly weapon in the 4400 block of Beach Avenue.
“The location is a barbershop business about 30 feet from Sheriff Lancaster Station Property Line,” the release said.
At that location, the deputies found a man suffering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries. They provided medical assistance while waiting for medical workers to arrive and take the victim to the hospital.

During their investigation, lawmakers noticed that the victim had not been shot dead but had been running to the vehicle.
The 51-year-old man was allegedly shot by his father-in-law at a Southern California home.
“After the victim fled, the suspect standing in the area fired several rounds at the vehicle,” officials said.
The suspect, who authorities did not identify, was arrested and the firearm was recovered.
It is unclear whether the suspect intentionally ran through the victim with a vehicle or whether the vehicle was later struck by a gunshot.
