Since last Friday, much of LA has been in the rage over a widespread immigrant assault, with many Angelenos taking them to the town to protest, others still relying on grassroots organisations to report donations, grocery drop-offs, suspected ice activity and other mutual aid efforts. In the city’s hospitality industry, where a significant portion of the workforce is made up of immigrants, restaurants and bars are preparing for the possibility of an ice attack.

Now, last night, with Mayor Karen Bass appearing in downtown LA, the area’s restaurants, bars and other businesses have been forced to fully close and adjust their time with plenty of attention due to the possibility of continuous raids or civil unrest. Others are aware of the ice activity seen in the area and have chosen to temporarily close the doors to protect the migrant community. It is important not to underestimate the gravity of these business decisions. Between the Wildfire and the lingering impact of the entertainment industry slowdown, many places in LA are already struggling quietly with fewer guests.

In alphabetical order, there is a confirmed list of restaurants, bars and other food-related businesses within and around the night curfew zone, including parts of Chinatown, Little Tokio, the Arts District and Boyle Heights. Interestingly, as of Friday, both Bavel and Bestia chose to maintain normal times, saying, “Nothing happened in our area. Yes, we spoke with LAPD. They are open for business and they can come here whenever they don’t mind.”

On Thursday, June 12th, the independent Hospitality Committee also issued a statement on Instagram stories for restaurant operators. We included statements relating to closure and truncated times where applicable.
