Ahead of what is predicted to be a record-breaking travel season, Uber aims to make it easier to get to and from the airport.
One new aspect of the pre-takeoff or post-landing experience is a new type of rideshare. Uber XXL is designed for large groups.

Looking for Uber XXL? Now, the ride-sharing giant also announced a new option for carpooling to the airport that wasn’t available before.
However, LAX is not one of the airports where the update will be implemented. UberX shares are available at several domestic airports, as well as two international destinations: Amsterdam and Madrid.

The major update also includes a new Uber Reserve feature that allows travelers to schedule rides to the airport in advance.
Not only that, but Uber’s new Flight Capture feature acts as a hub for all your travel information. By entering their flight details into the app, travelers receive alerts from Uber if their flight is delayed or cancelled, and have the option to reschedule pre-booked rides.

It will also add the option to add home screen widgets for Apple products, allowing travelers to book rides “with just two taps.”
Some of the updates include upgrades to Uber’s shuttle service. However, this expansion currently only serves New York’s LaGuardia Airport, but more airports are expected to launch shuttle service in the future.

“With crowds, unavoidable delays and hectic schedules, holiday travel can seem daunting,” Uber said in a media release. “That’s why we’re announcing new products and features to make your airport travel experience smoother.”

“No matter what your plans are this holiday season, Uber is here to make it a little easier,” the company added.
Uber’s new features come as experts predict the 2024 holiday season will be the busiest travel season on record. According to AAA, nearly 80 million Americans are expected to travel for Thanksgiving this year.
