Ukrainian President Voldimi Zelensky on Sunday thanked European leaders for supporting their participation in this week’s US-Russia Summit in a way that undermines Ukraine’s sovereignty, as they fear Washington and Moscow could enter into a contract to end the war.

“The end of the war must be fair. I am grateful to everyone who is standing with Ukraine and our people for peace in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy will not give away territory for peace agreements ahead of Trump Petin Summit when the Trilateral Conference is teased

NATO Executive Director Mark Latte said the upcoming summit was “about the test of Putin,” and would serve as a measure of how serious the Russian leader is in “ending this horrifying war.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO Executive Director Mark Rutte will meet at the NATO Summit on June 23, 2025 at the World Forum in The Hague, Netherlands.

Both the White House and the Kremlin have admitted requests to participate in Zelenskyy’s consultations, although no formal invitations have been issued. Trump and Putin are scheduled to meet in Alaska on August 15th. If Zelensky were to participate, the conference would mark the first one between Putin and Zelensky since the start of the Moscow war.

Authorization of Russian law threatens Moscow, an ally with 500% tariffs

The meeting that Trump announced on the Truth Social Post on Friday follows Washington’s threat to impose sudden tariffs on the Kremlin and its allies.

Trump previously singled out countries such as India and China to undermine the G7 price cap and weaken the effects of Western sanctions.

In response, bipartisan lawmakers have introduced Russian law that imposes 500% tariffs targeting the core of Russia’s economy (oil and gas exports) if Moscow continues to resist peace efforts or expand the conflict.

Meanwhile, senior members of Putin’s inner circle warned that several countries are increasing “Titanic efforts” to undermine the upcoming summit between Russian leaders and Trump.

“Undoubtedly, many countries interested in continuing the conflict will make a Titanic effort to disrupt the planned meeting between Putin and President Trump,” Russian investment mission Kiril Dmitriev, referenced the ongoing Kremlin war in Ukraine in a Telegram post on Saturday.

Dmitriev did not name any particular countries, but he warned that critics of future consultations could attempt to thwart the summit through the media through diplomatic manipulation and disinformation.
